Our Mission

MS177 prepares students to be critical thinkers, effective problem solvers and powerful communicators in a rapidly changing 21st century world. We engage students in an education that broadens and deepens their understanding of the world around them in both the social and physical sciences. By embracing academic voice, student voice, collaboration, self-direction, and empathy, our students will have the confidence, tenacity and skills for success.

Who We Are

MS177 Yorkville East Middle School is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. We pride ourselves on our small, tight-knit community in which every adult knows every child and helps support their growth throughout their three years of middle school. While small, we offer a vast number of enrichment opportunities for our students, including a variety of competitive sports, chorus, Broadway Bound Jr., dance and guitar, debate, chess, visual arts, and more!  Our dedicated staff builds trusting relationships with both students and their families, and works closely with them to ensure our students are successful in middle school and beyond.
